To help us answer quickly, include your device model (iPhone or iPad), the app version shown in Settings › About › Version, and, if you are signed in, the email address or sign-in method (Apple, Google, or email) you use.

Yes. Tap Get Started on the welcome screen to use SOLVE without signing in. You can import files, write your answers, and add the free starter chapters to your library without an account.

If you are not signed in, your notes are stored only on that iPhone or iPad. To create an account or sign in later, go to Settings and tap Sign In. You can continue with Apple, Google, or email (a one-time code is sent to your email address). You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

Open the Import tab and choose one of three sources. Each import is added to your library as a new note.

• Choose Files — one PDF at a time, from Files, iCloud Drive, or Google Drive.
• Photos — one or more images from your photo library. Each photo becomes one page.
• Scan Document — scan paper pages with the camera (available on devices that support document scanning).

Password-protected or damaged PDFs are not supported yet. An import also needs enough free space on your device.

Notes you write and files you import are saved on your device. If you are not signed in, they exist only on that iPhone or iPad — there is no copy anywhere else, so deleting the SOLVE app from your Home Screen removes them.

Removing a starter chapter from your library keeps your notes and answers on the device.

1. Open the Settings tab while signed in.
2. Tap Delete Account (below Sign Out, in the account section at the top).
3. Confirm by tapping Delete.

When you delete your account, we deactivate it, remove the personal information that identifies you (the email address or phone number linked to it), and delete its sign-in credentials — your Apple or Google sign-in connection and saved sign-in sessions. A deleted account cannot be signed in to again; signing up again creates a new account. SOLVE then signs you out on that device. If deletion fails, check your connection and try again, or email us.

Deleting your account does not erase everything. Notes and handwriting that were synced to the account are retained, and a record of which policies you agreed to and when is kept. Records the law requires us to keep, such as purchase and payment records, are also retained, and notes saved on your device are not removed. To ask about data kept after deletion, email us. See the Privacy Policy for details.

If you never created an account, there is no account to delete. Your notes and imported PDFs are stored only on your device; to remove them, delete the SOLVE app from your Home Screen.

The free chapters under Recommended for You on the Home tab come from openly licensed or public-domain materials — for example, OpenStax textbooks shared under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) license. Tap a chapter to see its details: the Attribution and License sections show who created the original material and the license it is shared under, with a link to view the original source.

Some chapters may show "Answers and explanations enhanced with AI", and individual questions may carry an "AI-generated answer" or "AI-generated explanation" label, so you can tell which content was produced with AI.

You can hide these suggestions with Settings › Home › Show Recommendations. Chapters you have already added stay in your library either way.
